Fowey is, in our opinion simply the best place to stay on the South Cornwall Coast Path.

‘Staying in Fowey give you the chance to keep one eye on the ocean horizon, and the other on beautiful wooded valleys and tidal rivers. Try the circular Hall Walk for a great introduction to the area, crossing the River Fowey twice and exploring enchanting creeks and woodland.’

Most of our walkers choose to book multi-centre walking holidays on our trails, walking on to a new overnight location every night.

However you may prefer to stay in one or perhaps two locations only rather than moving on every day.

There are some great restaurants in Lynmouth to keep your tummy happy after a long day's walk.

Well what can I say but a very big thank you. Just returned from our walking trip to lynmouth and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rising Sun was excellent accommodation and superb food. We walked the gorge walk the first day then taxi to combe Martin on Saturday and walked back into lynmouth. Completed in 6 hours. The weather was pretty kind to us. Showers most of the morning then the sun came out in the afternoon but a nice breeze to keep us cool. My friend had a fancy watch on that tells us how far we walked and the steps. 14 miles on the Saturday. Sunday we took a taxi to Porlock weir and walked back to lynmouth. Your notes state 12 miles but there are a lot of landslides along this stretch with a lot of diversions so my friends fancy watch actually recorded us walking 14.5 miles. Still we completed in just under 6 hours as was a more moderate walk. The heathers were all in flower so beautiful surroundings. We had aching legs the next morning but really enjoyed it. Trying to plan our next trip....any suggestions?

Excellent recommendation from Damon to stay in one location ( highly enjoyable Fowey ) and do day walks to the surrounding villages. Friendly and nice accommodation at the King of Prussia in Fowey. We had a fantastic holiday and were most impressed by the very professional arrangements by Encounter Walking Holidays.
