The Merrivale Stones

The Merrivale Stones, located on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, are a mesmerizing collection of prehistoric megaliths and stone circles that offer a glimpse into the region's ancient past. The site features a complex of ritual sites, including three stone rows, stone circles, standing stones, and burial cairns, all thought to date back to the Bronze Age, around 2500-1000 BC.

As you wander among these ancient stones, you can't help but wonder about the rituals, ceremonies, and beliefs of the people who placed them here so many centuries ago. The site's serene and remote location adds to the sense of timelessness and intrigue.

The site is managed by the Dartmoor National Park Authority, and there is a downloadable audio guide to enhance the immersive experience, available here.
